The Holset brand was founded in 1952 by Paul Croset and Brian Holmes. Their surnames were merged into the name \u201cHolset\u201d - a brand that has been synonymous with durable and powerful turbochargers for heavy-duty applications ever since. What began in a small wooden workshop in Huddersfield, England, grew into a global player in turbocharger technology. Today, Holset is part of Cummins Turbo Technologies (CTT), with technical centers in the United Kingdom, the United States, China and India.<\/p>\n

Starting in the 1950s, Holset played an important role in the advance of turbochargers in commercial diesel engines. In 1954, the brand received a license from Dr. Alfred B\u00fcchi, the inventor of the turbocharger, to produce his designs. Cooperation with Caterpillar, Cummins and later Schwitzer soon followed, further strengthening Holset's position in the international market. In 1973, the millionth Holset turbo rolled off the production line - a milestone that confirmed the brand's reputation as a leading manufacturer.<\/p>\n

Holset turbochargers are praised for their robustness, long service life and performance under harsh conditions. They are specifically designed for the mid- and high-end diesel market, where engines run under high loads day in and day out. Innovations such as variable geometry, two-step systems and advanced aerodynamics ensure maximum efficiency, lower emissions and a wide power range.<\/p>\n

Even today, Holset continues to innovate. The brand develops turbochargers for alternative fuels such as natural gas and hydrogen, and is working on air handling solutions for hybrid and fuel cell powertrains. The latest generation of Holset turbochargers - such as the X-Range and the 200 series - combines improved performance with noise reduction and even higher durability.<\/p>\n
